These integrations support bi-directional data flow: Inbound — Records, documents, and data come into Forerunner from your external systems when they’re ready for processing or review. Outbound — After processing in Forerunner, results, statuses, and validated data sync back to your source system automatically. This means your team can use Forerunner’s specialized capabilities (like elevation certificate validation or substantial improvement tracking) while keeping your permitting system as the central hub for your overall process.

Document processing and validation

Bring documents from your permitting system into Forerunner for automated processing, then return the results. How it works:
  1. A permit application with an elevation certificate is submitted in your permitting system

  3. Forerunner processes the document — extracting data, running validations, and flagging any issues
  4. Results (extracted data, validation status, any errors) sync back to your permitting system

Import records from your permitting system into Forerunner after they reach a specific stage in your review process. How it works:
  1. A record in your permitting system reaches a designated status (e.g., “Ready for SI/SD Review”)
  2. Forerunner automatically imports the relevant record data
  3. Your team completes their review or tracking in Forerunner
  4. Updates flow back to the source system as needed
Example: Substantial improvement / substantial damage (SI/SD) tracking. After initial permit intake happens in your permitting system, records come to Forerunner for cumulative improvement calculations and determination tracking.
