Webinar Recap: Navigating Your First CRS Verification Visit

The CRS Verification process is designed to ensure that communities are effectively managing their floodplain programs and implementing strategies that reduce flood risk. This important process includes many nuances and requires careful organization and preparation. In our most recent webinar, Navigating Your First CRS Verification Visit, Denise Boehning, ANFI, CFM reviewed the CRS verification process and shared essential steps for preparing for the visit.

During the webinar, Denise highlighted the crucial role of the CRS Coordinator, emphasizing the importance of organization and documentation for floodplain management plans, elevation certificates, records of public outreach activities, and more. She explained that proper documentation not only facilitates the verification process, but also showcases the community's commitment to effective floodplain management. She provided a detailed review process that CRS Coordinators can follow to prepare for the visit and covered the key CRS credit categories important for achieving a higher class.
