Forerunner’s new substantial damage tool combines FEMA's SDE logic with property-level data to help communities complete substantial damage assessments quicker and more easily.
After an event, users can leverage Forerunner’s inspections feature to complete Substantial Damage Estimates on any property in the system. Simply input information about how the structure is built, the degree to which the structure is damaged, and the cost per square foot to rebuild. Forerunner will create a Substantial Determination Summary to provide to FEMA, property owners, and to keep on record.
Available on desktop and mobile devices, Substantial Damage Estimates can be completed by your teams in the field and reviewed real-time by colleagues in the office. This digital collaboration enables your whole team to communicate quickly and accurately with a variety of stakeholders as dynamic situations unfold, including residents, state agencies, and FEMA. The data you collect can be used to populate Substantial Damage Letters using Forerunner's Letter Generation feature or compiled to meet FEMA's post-disaster substantial damage documentation requirements.

These estimates are intended for general guidance purposes only and should not be construed as definitive or accurate assessments of actual damage costs.
