# Viewing details

> Access detailed information, records, and files for properties and custom objects

When residents or community members select a property or custom object on your public website, they see a detailed page with relevant information, public records, and downloadable documents.

## Properties

### Property page layout

The property details page organizes information into clear sections:

**Header:**

* Property address
* Quick flood zone indicator
* Navigation breadcrumbs

**Map view:**

* Interactive map centered on the property
* Property location marker
* Parcel boundaries (if available)
* Toggle for public map layers

**Information sections:**

* Overview with flood risk data
* Records tab with public records
* Files tab with downloadable documents

### Flood zone information

The primary purpose of the property page is to communicate flood risk. Residents see:

**Zone designation**

The flood zone classification for the property:

* **Zone AE, A, AH, AO** - Special Flood Hazard Area (high risk)
* **Zone VE, V** - Coastal high hazard area (highest risk)
* **Zone X (shaded)** - Moderate flood risk
* **Zone X (unshaded)** - Minimal flood risk
* **Zone D** - Undetermined risk

**Special Flood Hazard Area status**

Clear indication of whether the property is in the SFHA:

* Properties in zones A, AE, AH, AO, V, or VE are in the SFHA
* SFHA properties typically require flood insurance with federally-backed mortgages
* Non-SFHA properties have lower risk but may still flood

**Base Flood Elevation**

If available, the BFE for the property location:

* Elevation in feet (or meters) above datum
* Reference datum (NAVD 88, NGVD 29)
* Relevance for construction and insurance

**FIRM panel reference**

The Flood Insurance Rate Map panel for the property:

* Panel number for map lookup
* Effective date of current map
* Link to view or download FIRM (if available)

<Note>
  The specific flood information displayed depends on your community's configuration. Your Customer Success Manager can adjust which attributes appear publicly.
</Note>

### Interactive map

The property page includes an interactive map showing:

**Property location**

* Marker or highlight showing the property
* Parcel boundary outline (if parcel data is available)
* Surrounding context and neighbors

**Map layers**

Residents can toggle public map layers:

* Flood zones with color coding
* Parcel boundaries
* Community boundaries
* Custom layers configured by your community

**Map controls**

* Zoom in and out
* Pan to explore surrounding area
* Switch basemap styles (street, satellite, terrain)
* Toggle layer visibility
* Geolocate to current position

### Sharing property information

Residents can share property pages:

**Direct link** - Copy the URL to share:

```
https://[your-community].withforerunner.com/properties/[property-id]
```

**Common sharing scenarios:**

* Send to insurance agent for flood zone verification
* Share with contractor for construction requirements
* Forward to lender for mortgage documentation
* Include in property listing or transaction documents

## Custom objects

Custom objects like infrastructure assets, facilities, and community boundaries have their own detail pages on the public website. The experience is consistent with properties — public users can view details, records, and files.

### Discovering custom objects

Public users find custom objects through:

* **Map clicks** - Clicking a custom object on the map opens its Object Information Panel, with full-page navigation consistent with property behavior
* **Public table views** - Row action buttons in SavedView tables navigate to the custom object's detail page

### Object Information Panel

When a public user selects a custom object, the Object Information Panel displays:

**Information sections:**

* Overview with object details and metadata
* Records tab with public records
* Files tab with downloadable documents

## Public records

The Records section shows records configured for public visibility on both properties and custom objects:

### What residents can see

* Record type and category
* Creation or submission date
* Status (completed, approved, etc.)
* Key details from the record form
* Link to view full record information

### What remains private

* Staff notes and internal comments
* Fields marked as staff-only
* Draft or pending records (unless configured otherwise)
* Workflow assignments and internal status

### Record types commonly made public

* Approved permits
* Completed inspections
* Final determinations
* Public notices
* Compliance certifications

<Tip>
  Work with your Customer Success Manager to configure appropriate public visibility for each record type. Balance transparency with privacy needs.
</Tip>

## Public files

The Files section shows documents available for download:

### Elevation Certificates

If your community shares ECs publicly:

* List of Elevation Certificates on file
* Certificate date and surveyor information
* Download link to view or save the PDF
* Multiple ECs if property has been resurveyed

### Other documents

Depending on your configuration:
