# Overview

> Track Substantial Improvement and Substantial Damage records

The SI/SD API enables you to programmatically manage Substantial Improvement (SI) and Substantial Damage (SD) records in Forerunner. These records are critical for floodplain management compliance and help communities track when properties require elevation or other mitigation measures.
