# Overview

> Manage users, security settings, and account configuration in Forerunner

Administration in Forerunner encompasses user management, security settings, and account configuration. Whether you're managing team access, configuring security policies, or working with your Customer Success Manager on account settings, this section covers what you need to know.

## What managers can do

Managers in Forerunner have access to team and account management features. As a Manager, you can:

| Capability              | Description                                              |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Manage team members** | Invite users, assign roles, and manage team access       |
| **View all records**    | Access records created by any team member                |
| **Export data**         | Export tables, records, and reports                      |
| **Configure workflows** | Set up and manage workflow definitions                   |
| **Manage public users** | View and manage resident accounts on your public website |
| **Access all features** | Full access to objects, records, files, maps, and tasks  |

## What requires CSM assistance

Certain administrative functions are configured by Forerunner's team to ensure proper setup and security:

**Account configuration**

* Security policy settings (password requirements, session timeouts)
* Single sign-on (SSO) provider setup
* Multi-factor authentication requirements
* User group creation and permissions

**Data configuration**

* Record type creation and customization
* Custom object type setup
* Public website configuration
* Map layer management
* Repetitive loss data imports

**Integrations**

* API access and webhook configuration
* Third-party system connections
* ArcGIS synchronization setup

Contact your Customer Success Manager to request changes to these settings or discuss new configuration needs.

## User types in Forerunner

Forerunner supports different types of users with distinct access levels:

### Internal team members

Your organization's staff who work in Forerunner daily:

* **Manager** - Full access including team management
* **Member** - Full access to data without team management
* **Creator** - Can create and edit records and documents
* **View Only** - Read-only access to data

### Public users

Residents who create accounts on your public website:

* Can track their own submissions
* Access features requiring authentication
* Cannot access internal staff features

### Guests

Anonymous visitors to your public website:

## Repetitive loss data

For communities participating in the Community Rating System (CRS), Forerunner can import and manage Repetitive Loss data from FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program.
